How to Submit Project Requests

When you need a project performed at Airhouse, you can submit a request in the dashboard. Supported types of projects include:

  1. Barcoding: Label individual SKUs (units or cases) with a barcode sticker for accurate identification, fulfillment and inventory management.
  2. Kitting: Group components (individual SKUs, promotional items, packaging and/or other materials) and barcode the completed kit to create a new sellable SKU.
  3. Case creation: For wholesale, take individual units and create new master cases to be available and on hand to sell and ship large wholesale orders.
  4. Case breakdown: For wholesale, take a master or inner case and break it down into available and on hand inner cases/packs or individual units to sell and ship B2C or small B2B orders.
  5. Inventory audit: Count inventory quantities or otherwise audit inventory for selected SKUs to resolve inventory questions or discrepancies.
  6. Other projects: Request work that does not fall into the categories listed above.
  7. Wholesale Order: Pick and pack a B2B order to a store or retailer that has custom packing, labeling or shipping requirements beyond Airhouse’s standard workflow.

⚠️
Important: Be sure to properly select if the wholesale order should be shipped via small parcel or palletized and sent via freight. This determines the cost of the B2B shipment.

How to Create a Project

In the Airhouse dashboard, there are three places to submit a request, depending on the type of project you need completed:

  1. In the main Project view for any request
  2. In Restock to add project work to incoming inventory shipments
  3. In Orders to add project work to a specific order

In the Main Project View

Use this dashboard for any kind of project request.

  1. Create a new Project Request
  2. Select your project type from the dropdown. Based on the project type you select, additional fields will appear requesting further information. Depending on the type of project, select one or more orders, inventory shipments (Restocks), or SKUs/products associated with the order.

  3. Under Additional Information: Let our team know if you need to approve a quote or test images of the project prior to starting the project. If you select YES to either option, your Account Manager will reach out with a quote and/or images from the warehouse for your approval. If you select NO to a quote, Airhouse will not supply a quote or other information for approval and will proceed with the project as you have described it. In both cases, you will be charged according to the fee schedule in your Airhouse contract.
  4. Click Create Project Request to save and submit to our Operations team

In Restock

Use this dashboard to add any services that need to be completed when your inventory arrives at the warehouse, including barcoding, inspection, kitting, and other common services.

⚠️
Note: For Restock-related projects, all inventory shipments with projects associated with them will be considered Non-Standard Receiving. Please reference your Airhouse contract for Non-Standard Receiving SLAs and costs.

To submit a project for an inventory shipment related to Restock:

  1. Depending on the status of your Restock shipment, create a project in one of two places:
    1. For new Restock shipments: Create in Restock
    2. For existing Restock shipments: Create in the Project dashboard (see workflow above)
  2. Select the project type from the dropdown. In Products, choose the specific SKUs/products that are part of the requested project work.
  3. Under Project Instructions, add instructions and any attachments (images, files and/or videos) to complete the project. This information will be shared with our team.

In Orders

Use this dashboard to add any services that need to be completed for a specific order, including wholesale orders. Orders in Airhouse can be submitted for orders manually created through the Airhouse dashboard, or synced from Shopify or Squarespace.

How you add a project to an order depends on its source and status in Airhouse:

  1. For new manual orders (created in Airhouse): Add a project when you create in Orders > Create Order
    1. If you forget to add project information when creating a manual order, the order will automatically send to Airhouse without a project associated and you will need to add one in Projects afterwards.
  2. For existing manual orders (created in Airhouse): Add a project in the Project dashboard (see workflow above)
  3. For orders from Shopify and Squarespace: These orders must be either tagged (reach out to your Account Manager to set up a tag and rule) OR immediately put on Hold in Airhouse while in a New status.

⚠️
Note: For order-related projects, a project can only be added to an order if the order’s status is New and on Hold (any order), or Draft (manual orders with instructions only). Once any order is Processing, a project cannot be created.

To submit a project with a new manual order, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Orders and select Create Order.
  2. After entering your order details, at the bottom of the Create Order page, you will see the option to add a project request. You can mark this order as a Wholesale Order or Other Project.
